A leading MNC in the sustainable construction sector is seeking implementation partners to implement vocational skilling projects under its CSR initiative. This campaign invites credible proposals that address last mile skills gaps in the construction and allied trades sector — developing certified, job-ready technicians (such as fabricators, applicators, fitters etc) linked to live industry demand that are placed in credible employment opportunities. The aim is to build a future-ready workforce for sustainable construction, while advancing inclusion for women, youth, and marginalised communities.
Main Objective of the Campaign:
To support demand-driven, industry-aligned skilling programmes that develop certified technicians across sustainable construction and allied trades, strengthen the sector talent pipeline, and generate measurable livelihood outcomes for underserved communities.
The thematic focus areas are:
Sustainable Construction Skilling – training and certifying technicians across trades such as glass fabrication and installation, drywall and gypsum-based construction, insulation application (rockwool/glasswool), and construction chemicals.
Training and certifying technicians across trades such as:
Glass fabrication and installation techniques, along with exposure to evolving technologies
Job-ready dry construction skills including gypsum plastering, drywall installation, finishing, system selection, quality and safety
Specialized application skills for construction chemicals, with product knowledge and correct use of tools and equipment
Installation and application skills for rockwool and glasswool, and insulations materials with adherence to standardized practices and quality protocols
Pipe polishing, welding, and grinding skills for industrial use cases
Auto detailing and surface finishing skills for automotive glass and related components
Eligibility Criteria for Organisations:
Must be a registered NGO/Section 8 company/implementation agency eligible to receive CSR funding (valid 12A, 80G, and CSR-1 mandatory).
Minimum 3 years of experience in vocational skilling or livelihood programmes.
Prior experience in construction, manufacturing, or allied sector skilling preferred.
Proven track record of delivering measurable placement or livelihood outcomes.
Ability to design and implement industry-aligned, scalable programmes.
Geographical Relevance:
Pan-India proposals are welcome, with preference for projects in key industrial clusters such as Mumbai, Bangalore, Sriperumbudur, Bhiwadi, Jhagadia, Vizag, Perundurai, and Palakkad.
Beneficiary Focus:
Youth (18–30 years) seeking employment in construction and allied trades
Women entering or transitioning into non-traditional technical roles
Marginalised communities including SC/ST and other underserved groups
Technicians such as fabricators, applicators, fitters, and craftsmen across the construction value chain
Project Budget:
₹50 lakh – ₹2 crore per proposal
Project/Program Timelines:
Phased implementation with pilot in Year 1 and scale-up in Years 2–3
Projects should clearly outline:
Strong need assessment with defined catchment areas and industry demand linkage
Training approach aligned to NSQF or equivalent industry standards
Integration of on-the-job training (OJT) and/or technology-enabled learning
Clear placement or livelihood linkage within 3–6 months of programme completion
Defined Theory of Change, Logical Framework, and MEL plan
Pre- and post-assessment methodologies
Sustainability and scale strategy beyond the grant period
Example of an outcome-led skilling model (approach can be adapted, not limited to this): demand and skill gap assessment → programme and curriculum design → MoUs, classroom setup, onboarding training partners, trainers, and employers → candidate mobilisation → pilot training delivery with OJT → assessment and certification → placement support and post-placement tracking (3 months) → proof of concept and completion reporting→ scale-up across batches and geographies.
Expected Outcomes:
Number of beneficiaries enrolled, trained, and certified
Placement/self-employment outcomes at 3 and 6 months post-training
Cost per certified beneficiary
Inclusion metrics (gender and social category)
Beneficiary satisfaction and retention
Proportion of beneficiaries in sustained livelihoods
Applications without clear employment or livelihood linkage will not be considered. Charity-driven or purely welfare-based approaches are discouraged.
