Every nonprofit has values written into presentations, websites, and strategy documents. But the real challenge is not defining values — it is ensuring those values are consistently reflected in how people lead, communicate, make decisions, handle conflict, manage pressure, and work together every day.

Many mission-driven organisations experience a disconnect between intent and reality. Teams speak about collaboration but operate in silos. Leaders advocate wellbeing while burnout quietly grows. Organisational cultures become dependent on a few individuals rather than shared behaviours and systems. Over time, these gaps begin to affect morale, trust, retention, decision-making, and ultimately organisational performance.

This intensive in-person masterclass is designed specifically for senior NGO leaders to explore the often-overlooked relationship between values, organisational culture, leadership behaviour, and performance through the lens of Emotional Intelligence (EQ).

Hosted in collaboration with BeyondEQ, this will be a highly interactive, activity-led workshop in Bangalore. The session creates space for nonprofit leaders to step away from day-to-day operational pressures and reflect deeply on how their organisations function internally — beyond programmes and outcomes.

Participants will engage in guided reflection exercises, peer discussions, organisational mapping activities, and leadership assessments to better understand:

  • How culture is currently experienced within their organisation

  • Where values are being reinforced or diluted

  • How leadership behaviours influence team dynamics

  • What emotional intelligence looks like in real nonprofit leadership settings

The workshop introduces practical and immediately usable frameworks that help leaders move beyond abstract conversations around culture and towards concrete action. Rather than focusing only on theory, the day is designed around application, self-awareness, and organisational relevance.

Participants will leave not only with insights, but with tangible tools, reflection frameworks, and action plans they can immediately apply within their organisations and leadership teams.

What Participants Will Leave With

Participants will work on their own organisational realities throughout the workshop and leave with:

  • A completed Values Audit to identify gaps between stated organisational values and lived behaviours

  • A Culture Map analysing what is thriving, weakening, invisible, and protected within their organisation’s culture

  • A personal EQ self-assessment across five domains critical for nonprofit leadership

  • The Triangle Framework connecting Values, Culture, and Performance into one practical leadership model

  • An Emotional Trigger Map to identify leadership stress patterns and emotional responses

  • A practical 90-second interrupt strategy for managing difficult leadership moments and conversations

  • A structured 3-conversation leadership framework to improve internal alignment and communication

  • A personalised 30-Day Values-Culture Reset Plan with clear weekly actions

  • Peer reflection and accountability through discussions with fellow nonprofit leaders facing similar organisational challenges

  • Space for honest conversations around burnout, leadership pressure, organisational sustainability, and team culture — conversations that are often acknowledged privately but rarely discussed openly

Workshop Format

This is not lecture-style training. The workshop follows a 60/40 format:

  • 60% interactive activities, reflection, peer discussions, and organisational exercises

  • 40% facilitated input, leadership frameworks, and guided learning

The in-person format is intentionally designed to enable:

  • Deeper peer learning and exchange

  • Real-time collaboration and reflection

  • Practical application on participants’ own organisational contexts

  • Honest conversations with leaders navigating similar challenges
