Note: This is a highly interactive, in-person workshop designed for nonprofit leaders to engage in reflection, discussions, and practical organisational exercises alongside peers from the sector.
About the Workshop:
Every nonprofit has values written into its mission, strategy, and policies. The real challenge is ensuring those values are consistently reflected in how leaders make decisions, communicate, manage conflict, support their teams, and navigate change.
Over time, many organisations experience a gap between intention and practice. Collaboration gives way to silos, wellbeing takes a back seat to burnout, and organisational culture becomes dependent on individuals rather than shared behaviours and systems. These challenges can impact trust, retention, team effectiveness, and ultimately organisational performance.
Hosted in collaboration with BeyondEQ, The EQ Advantage for NGO Leadership is an immersive full-day workshop that helps senior nonprofit leaders explore the connection between emotional intelligence (EQ), organisational culture, leadership behaviours, and performance.
Through guided reflection, peer learning, leadership assessments, and practical exercises, participants will examine how culture is experienced within their organisations, identify where values are being reinforced or diluted, and develop practical approaches to lead with greater self-awareness, resilience, and impact.
Rather than focusing on theory alone, the workshop is designed around application, enabling participants to leave with actionable tools and a clear plan to strengthen leadership and organisational culture.
What You'll Take Away:
By the end of the workshop, participants will have:
A Values Audit to identify gaps between stated values and day-to-day behaviours
A Culture Map to assess what is thriving, weakening, invisible, and protected within their organisation
A personal Emotional Intelligence (EQ) self-assessment across five leadership domains
The Values–Culture–Performance Framework to strengthen organisational effectiveness
An Emotional Trigger Map to better manage stress and difficult conversations
Practical communication frameworks for improving alignment and team collaboration
A personalised 30-Day Values & Culture Action Plan
Opportunities for peer learning, reflection, and conversations with fellow nonprofit leaders facing similar organisational challenges
Workshop Format:
This is not a lecture-based training. The workshop follows a 60:40 learning model:
60% interactive activities, reflection, peer discussions, and organisational exercises
40% facilitated learning, leadership frameworks, and practical insights
The in-person format provides dedicated space for meaningful conversations, collaborative learning, and immediate application to participants' own organisational contexts.
