Compensation & Benefits in the India Social Sector 2026
Compensation benchmarking is the process of comparing an organisation’s pay and benefits packages to those of similar organisations in the same industry or sector. It involves analysing salary data, benefits, and other forms of compensation to ensure that an organisation’s offerings are competitive and fair.
Compensation benchmarking is a vital tool for non-profits to remain competitive, ensure fairness, and effectively manage their resources. However, there is often not easily available data around compensations and benefits, and organisations often don’t have the bandwidth or resources to do a detailed benchmarking exercise.
Raahi: Impact’s 2025 Salary & Benefits Benchmark is a community-built, dipstick tool to help NGOs of every size make better hiring, pay and retention choices. Participation has been free and voluntary, and the results are shared as anonymised, aggregated benchmarks.
The third edition of the report captures:
- Compensation levels of key positions that are prevalent in a wide range of organisations (under different names): across leadership, programmes and support functions, and
- Benefits that are offered by different organizations.
