Tutorial
Intermediate Sattva Consulting

Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) systems are critical in an organisation because they provide insights into the effectiveness and impact of programs and initiatives. They help organisations make informed decisions, allocate resources efficiently, and adjust strategies as needed to achieve their goals.

The role of data in M&E is fundamental. Data serves as the foundation for assessing program performance, measuring progress towards objectives, and identifying areas for improvement. It allows M&E professionals to collect, analyse, and interpret information to make evidence-based decisions, track outcomes, and demonstrate the impact of interventions. Data also enables organisations to identify trends, patterns, and correlations that inform future planning and enhance program effectiveness.

This tutorial will make you familiar with topics such as:

  1. Why M&E is important
  2. How to use various M&E tools to make evidence-based program decisions
  3. How to cultivate an M&E culture in an organisation

This resource is recommended for program managers, program team and M&E managers within an organisation.
