Donor pitching refers to the process of presenting a persuasive case for financial support to potential donors, whether individuals, corporations, foundations, or government agencies. Donor pitching is important for NGOs as it allows them to effectively communicate their mission, impact, and funding needs to potential supporters. It may take may take various forms, including in-person meetings, written proposals, presentations, or fundraising events etc.

Key elements while pitching to donors include clarity of purpose, compelling storytelling, demonstrating impact, and building trust. Presenting a clear understanding of the organisation’s mission, how funds will be utilised, and the tangible outcomes achieved enhances credibility and increases the likelihood of donor engagement and support.
