Nalanda is a grant proposal writer and funding readiness practitioner who helps nonprofits secure funding through clear, compelling writing and systemic transformation.
Since 2018, she has raised over ₹67 lakhs in funding for nonprofits across various sectors, including a ₹22 lakh grant for a women-led agri-business in 2022. In May of the same year, she raised ₹1.12 lakhs through a 63km fundraising walk that demonstrated the power of storytelling in action.
Over the years, her conversations with sector leaders revealed a pattern – funding proposals being rejected because of organizational gaps, not just poor writing. These gaps include misaligned teams, unplanned programs, scattered documentation, and reactive fundraising processes that scared funders away.
This insight led her to develop the Fundability Index, an 8-dimensional diagnostic framework that assesses organizational readiness across key areas. In this practice, Nalanda helps nonprofits assess readiness, identify specific gaps that block consistent funding, and build a roadmap for systems that make fundraising sustainable.
Nalanda’s practice now addresses both tactical and systemic needs.
She has created Grant Writing Essentials, a self-paced course for professionals transitioning into fundraising. Nalanda also conducts practical workshops for nonprofit teams looking to build grant writing skills. To date, she has trained over 350 professionals from diverse organizations.
Nalanda’s work aims to make both grant writing and organizational funding readiness more accessible to those driving social change, so they can spend less energy performing and more time building impact.
